Dave was a commissioned officer in the US Army and holds a Masters in Maritime Archaeology. He has recently (2017) published groundbreaking research on a new way to extract ultra-high resolution surface texture data from subaquatic in situ object-level material with digital imaging (http://dx.doi.org/10.1117/1.JEI.26.1.011029). He is an expert in subaquatic 3D photogrammetric methodology and is proficient in the operation of the wide variety of subaquatic remote sensing technologies. He holds commercial equivalency, multiple technical, American and European scientific, and American and European instructor level SCUBA diving certifications. He can be frequently found in the Mediterranean Sea diving on ancient shipwrecks. Dave is bilingual (English/Spanish), an Assistant Instructor for the Nautical Archaeology Society and a member of the Tennessee Council for Professional Archaeology.
