We Want Your Input on the Standards of Research Performance

For the first time since the founding of  The Register, we are reviewing our standards to ensure they are up-to-date, and even ahead of, professional archaeological practice today!

Our discipline is rapidly changing, and we need to ensure that our standards are relevant to your day-to-day work. No one is better qualified than you to inform us on where they work, don’t work, or need updating. We would like your input on two questions.

  • First, does the Register need more sets of standards than our only set, the Standards of Research Performance?  Today, professional archaeologists do far more than research. How do we ensure quality and competency in other areas of practice?

  • Second, do our Standards of Research Performance need updating? If so, how do you think they should be revised?

You may remain anonymous, but we encourage you to provide your contact information so that we may follow-up if we have questions or want to hear more from you. Working on this project are the Standard Board Alternates that you elected plus the Directors that our four Sponsoring Organizations (AAA, AIA, SHA, and SAA) appointed. Please let them know what you think!

Submit your feedback before the deadline May 31, 2019.
