Brief Description of Education & Experience
Dr. Wendy Cegielski has more than 12 years of experience on archaeological projects in the Southwestern and Southeastern US and internationally in Spain. She has her PhD from Arizona State University with specializations in Bronze Age archaeology and computational social science. Dr. Cegielski is also a certified Project Manager Professional. She has extensive experience working in all phases of cultural resources projects as well as interfacing with regulatory agencies and tribal liaisons. Her specializations include proposal and report research and writing, lithic and ceramic analysis, near surface-geophysics, and statistical analysis.
As a Senior Archaeologist, Wendy will support federal and state projects in the Intermountain West, Southwest, Great Plains, Midwestern Plains, and the Pacific Northwest. Her duties will include supervising field projects for State, Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service permits, GIS support, interpreting federal, state and local regulations to assess project permitting feasibility, preparation of proposals, and conducting technical reviews of permit applications.
She is an author of multiple publications, a Smithsonian fellow, and a recipient of a National Science Foundation grant awarded for her dissertation titled Toward a Theory of Social Stability: Investigating Relationships Among the Bronze Age Peoples of Mediterranean Iberia.
