Brief Description of Education & Experience
Environmental archaeologist with a particular focus on zooarchaeology. Interests include plant and animal domestication, human-environment relationality, the integration of traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) via Indigenous research methodologies, and the utilization of R Studio programming language to assess data quality and trends in human-animal interactions.
Experience with historic and pre-historic archaeology includes the University of Maryland's Archaeology of the Irish Diaspora field school (2019), artifact analysis and curation as undergraduate laboratory technician at UMD's Kippax Plantation Historic Preservation Lab (2020-2022), and work with M-NCPPC Montgomery Parks' Cultural Resources Stewardship Section as Archaeology Assistant and Program Aide (2022). Past faunal analysis includes tenure as the 2023 Zooarchaeology intern at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center under the mentorship of Environmental Archaeologist Jonathan Dombrosky, and research on domestic canid remains from Chirikof Island, Kodiak Archipelago, Alaska under the direction of Professor Catherine West (2023-2024).
