Brief Description of Education & Experience
I transferred from Bakersfield College in December 2023 with an Associate of Arts for Transfer in Anthropology and Liberal Arts and began pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a concentration in Anthropology at California State University, Monterey Bay, where I expect to graduate in December 2025. My bioarchaeological experience includes both lab and field work. In the summer of 2022, I contributed to Dr. Beth Scaffidi’s research on dietary variability in early life among individuals from Uraca, Arequipa, Peru through a research assistant internship at the Skeletal Environmental Isotope Lab (SEIL) at the University of California, Merced. My responsibilities included preparing tooth dentin samples for stable isotope analysis, data analysis, and presenting research findings. Additionally, I participated in a field school at the Sepolcreto Ostiense Necropolis in Rome, Italy, where I gained practical experience in bioarchaeology and Roman funerary practices. Under the supervision of Dr. Llorenç Alapont, I worked on the excavation of cremated remains, artifact documentation, and osteological assessments.
